So you would like to register for a Delmarva Paddlers Retreat Event?

We are trying to simplify the registration process.  The software we currently use is only so flexible, please read and follow the instructions.  We are a volunteer organization trying to do our best, not Amazon.

Registration helps us to schedule events for all, prepare enough food and lodging, and provide insurance for everyone.  There are 6 Steps to register, each clearly identified (i.e. Step 1, Step 2, etc.)

Step 0 - Create Login Account - To begin, you must create a Paddler Account:

Click on the Step 0 - Create Login Account link under the "Register Here" Tab Menu and enter:

     • Your email address

     • First Name & Last Name,
     • Your American Canoe Association (ACA) Membership Number, they carry our event insurance so an ACA membership number it saves us money
     • Your Qajaq USA Membership Number, we hope you are a member, they support all of the gear and demo qajaqs at Delmarva.
    • And a password you will remember!  Keep it simple.  It's required by the software, we do not store any of your financial information, (PayPal handles that) so high encryption values are not necessary.

Returning guests should use your password from last year. You do remember it right?  If not use the password reset function.

After your paddler registration is complete, you will need to confirm your email address.   You will receive an email with a confirmation link back to the site to validate your email address. Enter your password and complete your Login.

Your account must then be approved by the Delmarva Paddler's Retreat Event Organizer (it may take up to 24 hours to process). You will be sent an email saying you can now register online.

Step 1 - Login:  Once your accounts has been "approved," please return to the site and login.

You can now finish your registration. Under the "REGISTER HERE" tab you will now find a host of options now available for you to click on and choose from (Steps 2 - Step 6).

Step 2 - Choose your Event Stay Package.

Click on the Step 2: Event Package link under the "REGISTER HERE" tab. (If you are a mentor at the Delmarva Paddler's Retreat, you will see an separate link to sign up as a Mentor)

You can now choose the type of Delmarva Stay you desire - More detailed info on the stay packages is available under Participation Info

•The Standard Delmarva Stay includes 2 nights lodging (Fri-Sat) and food from Lunch -  Friday through Lunch Sunday.

•The Extended Delmarva Stay includes 3 nights lodging (Thurs-Sat) and food lunch Thursday through Lunch Sunday,

•The Super Delmarva Stay  includes 4 nights lodging (Wed-Sat) and food from Thursday Breakfast through Sunday Lunch.

All DPR Stay packages include food, the Skinning Workshop, the Building Tips Workshop, the Ropes workshop, the Guide on the Side series with Dave Niles, on Water Mentoring, and presentations from Guest speakers!

Customize your Stay:  You can customize your stay by adding additional workshops and selecting options and lodging options. Descriptions of the Workshops can be found on the Workshops page.  Additional workshops do add to the cost of your Delmarva Stay cost, however all materials are provided for you.

  •        The Paddle Making Workshop is a great way to make your own first Greenland Paddle.
  •        The Sunday Night Stay option provides for lodging overnight the night after the event. If you just can’t get enough, then stay one more night and enjoy the By the Beach - on the Bay BBQ put on by our friends from JSSKA, or perhaps eat in town at one of the areas many fine restaurants and just plan a leisurely exit after an active weekend and leave Monday morning. If you do not sign up now, you can decide at the last minute. Just let us know by Sunday morning. The BBQ is organized by the Jersey Shore Sea Kayak Association members. They will make an announcement, or several, about how to participate during the Stay.
  •        The Lodging Preference allows for a personal choice between staying in one of the rustic bunk style community cabins or in your own tent. For tent campers there are many platforms available on a first come first serve basis.
  •        The Quiet Stay option allows the event coordinator to try and group lodgers into cabins who have similar needs and requests. Some attendees like lots of sleep after a hard day of skills training, while some attendees wish to socialize in their cabins.  This does not assure the attendee of perfect quiet, but we will try and locate you in a quieter setting.  It is a camp after all.
  •         The Vegetarian Meals option helps the meal providers allocate vegetarian options for all meals.
  •         The ACA & QAJAQ USA Membership Number option assists in providing insurance for all participants in the event. It helps keep our costs down when you are an ACA member, so please - won't you join them.  If you have a membership in either club, please take the time to indicate so, and provide the number during the next step of your checkout process.

After choosing your personal options for your Delmarva Stay, adjust the quantity if appropriate for the number of attendees joining you for this event. If there are differences in options for multiple people in your group, create a new stay for each individual and note who the stay options are for. Once ready, add your personalized Delmarva Stay to your cart, review your order, and then proceed to Checkout.

Step 3: Add Shirts and Things:

$40 DPR hoodies can be added to your account.

Step 4: Shopping Cart:

Check the contents of your Shopping Cart.

Step 5:  Checkout

To checkout, please supply your billing and shipping (if different) address and contact information.

Now choose PayPal® or Create Manual Invoice

You can pay for your Delmarva stay in one of 2 ways - pay by PayPal® or mail a check to the Event Organizer.  Obviously the first option is quicker, easier, more preferred by the event volunteers, and saves them on resources and effort. We appreciate your help. If you choose to send a check, be sure that the Event Organizer contacts you first with further details before doing so.

If you chose PayPal® you will be redirected to your PayPal login where you can sign in and transfer funds from a registered bank account or credit card. If you do not have a PayPal account you have the option of paying with a debit or credit card as a PayPal® guest. Don't worry, PayPal® is a highly respected and highly secured e-commerce solution.  After completing your transaction, you will receive an email from Delmarva Paddlers Retreat as an invoice. You will also be contacted shortly by the event organizer to finalize your Stay.

If you chose Create Manual Invoice you will see an invoice displayed with your stay details and the amount due. You will also receive an email of this invoice. Save the email for reference when communicating with the event organizer.

But Wait!  You are not quite done

Step 6: Create Your Paddler Preferences Profile:

This is where you let us know what on-water skills you would like to work on during your Delmarva Paddler's Retreat stay. Using this information, we will have a better idea of how to structure our classes.  Please note, if a class generates too little interest, we will not be able to offer it.

Step 7: You will be contacted shortly by email in order to complete the requirements for the Delmarva Paddlers Retreat including waiver forms.

Enjoy your time at The Delmarva Paddler's Retreat!

All minors under age 18 at time of registration must have the QajaqUSA and Minor Wavers completed. Use links under "Participation Info" above

Please mail the forms to Delmarva Paddlers' Retreat, c/o Chris Beckman, 11 Eagle Drive, Rehoboth Beach DE 19971

Cancellation Policy

We are sorrry but due to facility contracts & instructor scheduling, the Delmarva Paddler’s Retreat has a no-refund policy after the Registration deadline of September 20th, unless we can place someone from the waiting list into your spot. As we know from the well weathered 2013 event, sort of a declaration of evacuation the event will go on and we will have a damn good time anyway!
